Call for AI4ICPS CHANAKYA Postdoctoral Fellowship for Translational Research in AI & ML for Interdisciplinary Areas, Cohort 5

About the Fellowship

The Fellowship supports candidates to pursue Postdoctoral work in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems. It is provided under the aegis of the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) and is managed by IIT KHARAGPUR AI4ICPS I HUB FOUNDATION.

The Fellowship is unique of its kind, highly flexible, and targeted to attract the best talent. Candidates from any academic background are encouraged to apply. The candidates may be well-versed in the foundations of AI & ML with a flair for applying these tools to solve practical problems in their respective core and interdisciplinary areas of interest. 

The Hub’s areas of focus in the context of AI encompass a wide range of sectors, such as Healthcare, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Energy, Transportation, Communications, Judiciary, Education, and Environment. We strongly emphasize the use of FATE (Fairness, Accountability, Transparency, and Explainability) techniques in AI within these domains.

Who is eligible?

• A graduating or a freshly graduated Ph.D. in a relevant field
• Consistent First Division in Academic performance.
• Strong research skills with a track record of relevant publications
• A passion for translational research or an interest in starting a startup
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Selection Process: 

The selection will be based on the recommendations of an Expert Committee constituted by AI4ICPS, IIT Kharagpur If required, the applicants may be called for a personal interview.

1. Curriculum Vitae

A complete curriculum vitae focusing on your academics, work experience, certifications, skills, comprehensive responsibilities, and publication list. 

2. References

Recommendation letters from 2 experts are needed at this stage which may include a letter of support from your mentor.

3. Comprehensive Research Proposal

A Research Proposal describing the motivation, objective, interests, and goals in translational research and technology development relevant to our hub’s application areas.
